Red black lampwork Swarovski crystal earrings, blue and purplish rose niobium, darkened brass - I wired a self-made lampwork glass bead with niobium wire, and wrapped an orange red bead to dangle underneath a darkly antiqued Vintaj brass ring.
Lampwork glass beads are made by heating rods of glass to the melting point and wrapping it around a mandrel. In this case red glass was overlaid with black, then super heated to bring out the black "bloom". The glass beads were then annealed in a kiln which increases the durability of the glass. These glass beads are nice and small at a width of about 1/3" (1 cm).
Niobium is hypo allergenic; people tell me they can wear niobium when nothing else works.
- Length: 1.75" (46 mm), including the ear wires.
